Heating, ventilation and air conditioning system

A system for supplying and exhausting air in industrial halls to control pollutant concentrations. It supports hall air cleaning through source-capture.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The HVAC system includes ventilation units, filters, and sensors that control the airflow in an industrial hall. It filters pollutants from the air and introduces clean air to keep pollutant concentrations below the workplace exposure limits.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

In the welding shop, it is especially important to ensure good ventilation because welding processes release pollutants such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide. Inadequate supply and exhaust ventilation can lead to toxic work environments that endanger workers' health. Additionally, poor air quality can affect the weld result by causing porosity or contamination.

Workshop Practice & Action Guidelines

To set up and operate the HVAC system effectively, the following measures should be taken:

• Ventilation rate: Make sure the ventilation rate matches the hall's needs. A typical value is one air change every 10 minutes.

• Filtration: Use high-efficiency filters (e.g., HEPA filters) to remove fine dust and pollutants from the air.

• Sensors: Install sensors to monitor pollutant concentrations and make sure they are calibrated regularly.

• Control: Use a control system to automatically adjust the airflow to the work load and air quality.
