Room monitoring system for ozone concentrations

An automatic warning system that measures the ozone concentration in the hall air and starts the ventilation system when limits are exceeded.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

Ozone is a harmful gas produced by UV radiation during MAG and TIG welding. It reacts with air molecules and forms ozone molecules.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

High ozone concentrations can damage the material by oxidizing the surface and impairing mechanical properties. This can lead to cracks and loss of strength.

Shop Practice & Action Guidelines

Install the room monitoring system in the welding hall. Set the limit for ozone concentrations to 0.1 ppm. If exceeded, the ventilation system starts automatically and exhausts the air. Regularly check the system and perform maintenance.
