Commercially Pure Titanium

Commercially pure titanium is a high-grade titanium material that offers excellent mechanical properties and chemical stability. It's used in demanding applications like aircraft construction.

Pure titanium is a special material that you can't treat like normal steel. The big issue when welding is protection from the atmosphere, because the material reacts sensitively to oxygen and nitrogen even at low temperatures. So you need a clean environment and proper shielding gas coverage, otherwise the weld will become brittle and cracky. Pay meticulous attention to the cleanliness of the material and filler metal; any contamination will cause trouble. You must have good control over heat input; too much heat quickly leads to microstructural changes and distortion. Work with a steady hand and appropriate energy, then you'll get a usable result.
