Recrystallization annealing
Heat treatment performed after cold working to restore original ductility through the formation of strain-free new grains.
In recrystallization annealing, you heat the workpiece enough for the deformed structure to completely reform. The material becomes softer, less stressed, and the grains rearrange evenly. If you miss the temperature or holding time, the structure stays uneven and the part can crack later. Make sure to heat evenly across the whole cross-section and let the component cool slowly, otherwise you'll build up new stresses.
