X-Ray Tube Anode
The anode is the target material in an X-ray tube where accelerated electrons strike to produce X-rays.
Physicochemical Mechanism of Action
Accelerated electrons hit the anode material and decelerate there. This braking process releases energy in the form of X-rays. Additionally, there is characteristic radiation emitted by the specific atomic element of the anode material.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
The way the anode material is selected influences the X-ray energy and intensity. Wrong materials can lead to insufficient or excessive radiation, which can affect weld quality.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Select anode materials with high emission power and low X-ray radiation to ensure optimal weld quality. Pay attention to the correct setting of electron energy and radiation intensity.
