Gunmetal

A cast copper-tin-zinc-lead alloy offering excellent castability and seawater resistance. It is commonly used for valves, pump housings, and plain bearings.

Red brass is a copper alloy with tin and zinc that casts well. When welding, be careful not to overheat the material, or it will become brittle and crack. The lead content can vaporize during welding and weaken the weld. So work with a steady hand and a cooler flame, and let the workpiece cool slowly. Check the weld for cracks afterwards, and it'll be fine.
