Rutile Welding Flux

A titanium dioxide-rich fused or agglomerated flux ensuring excellent slag properties and smooth weld transitions during submerged arc welding.

Rutile powder uses titanium dioxide to stabilize the slag and keep the arc calm. This stuff ensures the slag comes off clean and the weld becomes nice and smooth. If there's too little of it, you get a nasty slag that won't come off and pulls pores. Too much makes the melt tough and the powder cakes up. Just make sure the powder is stored dry and doesn't clump, then rutile is fine.
