Rutile electrode

A coated stick electrode featuring a high titanium dioxide content in the flux, ensuring easy ignition and a stable arc. It is preferentially used for smooth weld seams in all positions.

Rutile stick electrodes are the all-rounders for clean and thin sheet welding. The addition of rutile in the coating ensures a very calm, soft arc and a slightly slagging, easily removable slag. This gives you a smooth, clean weld that needs little rework. The electrode ignites well and is easy to guide even for beginners, especially in constrained positions. You can use it on normal steel, but not for root welding or when you need deep penetration values – for that, better use a basic electrode. Make sure to store the rods dry, otherwise the arc will act up.
