Rutile Flux-Cored Wire

A tubular consumable with a rutile-based powder core characterized by excellent droplet transfer and smooth bead profile. It is preferentially utilized in structural engineering and ship construction.

Rutile flux-cored wire is a self-shielding or gas-shielded wire whose slag gives you calm, soft welding with a nice, smooth bead. The powder ensures a stable arc and good wetting behavior, so you don't need the same cleanliness as with solid wire. Watch the wire feed speed and voltage, otherwise the torch spits or the bead becomes uneven. If you store the wire clean and dry and keep the contact tip at the right distance, you'll get hardly any pores and a clean surface. Generally speaking, rutile wire is more forgiving than others, but you have to adjust the parameters on your machine to the workpiece.
