Ruthenium-alloyed welding wire

A specialized filler metal containing ruthenium additions to enhance corrosion resistance in aggressive chemical environments. It stabilizes the microstructure and prevents intergranular corrosion during the welding process.

Ruthenium is an alloying addition that significantly increases the corrosion resistance of the weld metal. That's especially needed when you're working in aggressive chemical environments. The addition stabilizes the structure and thus prevents pitting and stress corrosion cracking. So use this wire when the components will later come into contact with acids or other harsh media. You don't need it for normal steel construction.
