Salt Bath Dip Brazing

Immersion of pre-assembled components in a hot molten salt bath that serves simultaneously as a heating medium and flux. This guarantees uniform heating.

Salt bath brazing is a process where you dip the assembled parts into a molten salt bath. The salt serves as a heating medium and ensures uniform heating, while also protecting the surface from oxidation. You must assemble the parts clean and dry before hanging them in the bath. You set the temperature and dwell time so that the filler metal flows cleanly and draws into the joint gaps. After brazing, let the parts cool slowly and wash off the salt residues thoroughly, otherwise corrosion will occur later.
