Oxygen-Free Protective Gas Brazing

Use of high-purity inert gases to prevent the formation of new oxides during heating. The purity of the gas prevents surface tarnishing.

When brazing with shielding gas, use an inert gas like argon or helium. It displaces oxygen from the hot spot so the metal doesn't oxidize and the joint stays clean. If you don't use shielding gas or turn it off too early, you'll get temper colors and the joint won't be properly strong. It's important to turn on the gas before heating and turn it off only after complete cooling. Make sure the gas cylinder has enough pressure and the hose is tight, then it'll work.
