Oxygen Content Monitoring in Build Chamber
Monitors the oxygen content in the process chamber to suppress critical thresholds during the melting process.
Physicochemical mechanism of action
Oxygen level monitoring in the build chamber is used to measure and control the oxygen content in the process chamber during the melting process. Too high an oxygen level can lead to corrosion and contamination of the metal.
Metallurgical relevance & risks in welding
A high oxygen level in the build chamber can lead to the following problems: corrosion of the tools, contamination of the metal by oxidation, and poor melting quality. This can lead to incomplete melting or porosity in the manufactured steel plate.
Workshop practice & action instructions
To monitor the oxygen level in the build chamber, use an oxygen sensor. The oxygen level should stay below 1 %. If this limit is exceeded, you should improve air circulation or take additional protective measures.
