Weld Pool Solidification Factor
This factor describes the ratio of temperature gradient to growth rate at the solidification front of the weld pool crater. It determines the formation of grain structures and the tendency toward microcracking.
The term 'weld pool solidification factor' isn't commonly used in practice – it's made up. What you mean is the cooling rate after welding. That determines how the structure crystallizes. If you cool too fast, the material becomes hard and crack-prone; if you cool too slowly, you get coarse grain and lose strength. So adjust preheating and heat input so that cooling matches the material. That's all there is to it.
