Cutting head collision protection

Cutting head collision protection prevents damage to tools and components from unintended collisions. It stops the feed when contact is made with warped sheet metal parts.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The cutting head collision protection system consists of a mechanical or electronic sensor that monitors the tool position. If it contacts a raised surface, the sensor detects a deviation and stops the feed immediately.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

Without collision protection, accidental impacts can damage the tool or optical/pneumatic components. This can lead to production downtime and higher repair costs.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Make sure the collision protection system is set correctly and works. Check the sensors regularly for damage or dirt. If there are issues, contact the manufacturer for service or repair.
