Shielding Gas Flow Regulator

A device for precise control of the shielding gas flow at the torch to ensure weld quality and safety.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The shielding gas flow regulator measures the gas volume flow and automatically adjusts it to ensure a constant concentration of shielding gas in the welding area. This prevents oxidation of the metal and improves weld quality.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

Without precise control, the shielding gas flow can be too high or too low. Too high a flow can cause overpressure and gas waste, while too low a flow can lead to oxidation of the metal and poorer weld quality.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Set the shielding gas flow regulator to the specified setting for the metal and welding process you use. Regularly monitor the flow and adjust it as needed. Use a gas supply of 10-20 L/min per kg of steel mass to be welded to achieve optimal results.
