Pulsed Gas Metal Arc
A modified arc process alternating between base and pulse currents to detach exactly one droplet per pulse. This controls heat input and eliminates spatter formation in the transition zone.
In pulse welding, the current alternates between a low background current and a high pulse current. Each pulse tears off exactly one droplet from the wire, while the background current keeps the arc stable and controls heat input. This keeps the material cooler and you get hardly any spatter. If you don't set the pulse parameters cleanly for the wire and gas, the transfer becomes erratic and the weld suffers. Set the machine according to the manufacturer's specs and watch for a clean arc, then it runs smoothly.
