Shielding gas mixing unit

Shielding gas mixing manifold is a control system that mixes and continuously doses different shielding gas components at the welding station. It ensures an optimal shielding gas atmosphere.

Physicochemical Mechanism of Action

The system mixes shielding gases like argon, carbon dioxide, and helium in preset ratios. This mixture protects the workpiece from oxidation and burning during welding.

Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding

Inaccurate dosing can lead to insufficient shielding gas coverage, causing porosity and loss of strength. Excessive gas supply can coarsen the microstructure and reduce toughness.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Ensure all shielding gas components are correctly set. Continuously monitor the gas supply and adjust settings as needed. Use specified cooling times and temperatures for optimal microstructure.
