Shielding Gas Tester

An analytical instrument for measuring gas composition and dew point directly at the welding torch nozzle. It serves quality assurance to prevent porosity caused by contaminated gases.

The shielding gas tester checks whether the gas actually arrives at the nozzle clean and dry. If there's moisture or foreign gas in it, you'll get pores in the weld and the part won't hold. You use it before and during welding to check whether the gas supply is right. If the reading deviates, you readjust the cylinder or the pressure regulator and measure again.
