Welding Coordinator
A qualified technical specialist who, according to ISO 14731, is responsible for planning, supervision, and quality control of all welding-related manufacturing steps.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
The welding supervisor oversees the entire process, from material preparation to final inspection. They ensure that all parameters such as temperature, voltage, and time are correctly maintained to achieve a safe and high-quality weld.
Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding
Inadequate supervision can lead to defects such as porosity, lack of fusion, or hot cracking. This impairs the mechanical properties and service life of the weld. A qualified supervisor minimizes these risks through continuous monitoring and correction.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
The welding supervisor must regularly check welding parameters, e.g., the temperature of the weld pool or the cooling rate. They should also ensure that all tools and materials are used correctly. In case of deviations from the plan, they must take immediate action and redo the weld if necessary.
