Welding Coordinator

A qualified person responsible for planning, executing, and supervising all welding activities within a facility. They ensure full compliance with quality requirements and standards.

The welding supervisor sets the welding parameters and releases the welding procedure specifications (WPS). They decide whether preheating is done and how the interpass temperature is maintained so that the weld structure is right. If you don't have that under control, you'll get hard, crack-prone welds or burnt material. The supervisor also checks whether the welders have their qualifications and that the procedure qualifications are valid. Measurement is done with a thermocouple or temperature indicating crayon, and anything that deviates is documented.
