Weld pool protection paste

A pasty auxiliary material applied to the root side during arc welding to prevent melt oxidation without conventional gas purging.

Weld pool protection paste prevents the melt from reacting with oxygen in the air during welding and forming oxides. This is especially important for root passes when you can't get to the back. Apply the paste to the back side of the joint before welding. It melts and forms a protective layer over the melt, keeping the weld clean and preventing pores or slag. Just apply it thinly and evenly, then it keeps the pool fluid and ensures proper penetration.
