Weld metal penetration depth
Weld metal burn-through depth is the point at which the weld metal no longer burns in a fire. It indicates the material's resistance to burn-through.
Penetration depth tells you how deep the weld reaches into the base material. It depends on current, travel speed, and the material's heat conductivity. If you weld too shallow, the joint won't hold; if you go too deep, you burn off alloying elements and make the structure brittle. So adjust the parameters to the material and check the weld profile, then it'll be fine.
