Welding Anti-Spatter Auxiliary
A chemical release agent applied before welding to prevent spatter and simplify post-weld cleanup.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
Anti-spatter compound chemically separates the metal surface from the weld. It forms a thin, anhydrous layer that prevents spatter from sticking, while also preventing metal particles from adhering to the surface.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
Without anti-spatter compound, spatter can occur, which may lead to cracks or distortion. The release agent protects the workpiece surface from corrosion and makes post-weld cleanup easier by preventing metal particles from sticking.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Use anti-spatter compound in its concentrated form. Apply it to the surfaces to be welded using a brush or an air spray gun. Make sure the compound is completely dry before you start welding. On wet surfaces, the compound won't work and spatter will occur.
