Weld Cap Layer
The final weld bead layer on the top side of the joint, which completes the aesthetic and geometric profile of the outer contour.
The cap pass is the last visible weld bead and largely determines the appearance of the weld. When welding it, you must ensure it runs cleanly and evenly over the previous layers without leaving notches or undercuts. The cooling process afterwards should be controlled so that a crack-free structure forms and the weld does not become brittle. A clean weld appearance is not just about looks but also a sign of proper execution.
