Welding Personnel

Welding personnel encompasses all individuals who perform manual, mechanized, or automated welding work and must be qualified for this through appropriate testing. Their craftsmanship forms the basis for defect-free weld geometries.

Welding is a joining process where you locally melt the workpieces and let them solidify again with or without filler material. The heat comes from a targeted source like an arc, gas flame, or friction, and you have to control the heat input cleanly. Beforehand, you clean the surfaces, otherwise there won't be a clean bond, and afterwards you let the weld cool in a controlled manner so the structure doesn't become brittle or stresses cause cracks. Whoever adapts the parameters to the material and works evenly gets a weld without pores and cracks.
