Welding Log
The welding log is the continuous recording of all actually used parameters and characteristic values during the fabrication of a specific welded structure. It serves as quality-assuring proof for compliance with the prescribed welding procedure specification.
The welding protocol is your memory for the work. You write down what you set, what material you welded, and how the seam looked. If something is later complained about or a crack appears, you can only trace what happened back then with the protocol. A good protocol is honest and complete. Note the most important setting values, the material, and the welding position. If you changed something because it wasn't working, write that down too. Only then can you learn from it next time and avoid mistakes.
