Welding Flux Moisture Content

The physically bound or adsorbed water content in fluxes, which must be minimized through mandatory redrying procedures.

Moisture in welding powder is a classic problem. The powder absorbs water from the air, and if you process it like that, you'll get porosity in the weld and the structure suffers – the weld becomes brittle and prone to cracking. So you have to store the powder dry and re-dry it before use according to the manufacturer's instructions. The exact temperatures and times are on the bag – stick to them. If you're unsure whether the powder is still good, dry it once more, it won't hurt.
