Flux Delivery System
Welding flux feeding is a dosing device that provides welding flux continuously and uniformly directly in front of the SAW head. This ensures optimal coverage of the welding zone.
Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action
The welding powder feed controls the feed of powder directly into the melting process. It ensures that the powder is evenly distributed over the weld and quickly turns into a homogeneous molten pool.
Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding
Uneven welding powder feed can lead to porosity and loss of strength. Too little powder can mean the weld is not adequately covered, leading to cracks and distortion. Too much powder can coarsen the structure and reduce hardness.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Set the welding powder feed so that a thin, even layer stays on the weld. This requires a precisely calibrated dosing unit and continuous monitoring of the process. If you have problems with porosity or cracks, reduce the powder feed; too little powder means you need to increase the feed.
