Downdraft Welding Fume Extraction Table

A work table with integrated extraction pulls welding fume down through the perforated work surface. This prevents contaminants from rising into the welder's breathing zone.

Physicochemical mechanism of action

The weld fume extraction table with underfloor suction takes advantage of natural air currents. The perforated tabletop lets the fume be drawn straight down and out through the suction duct. This stops the fume from rising into the surrounding air.

Metallurgical relevance & welding risks

Underfloor suction keeps pollutants like hydrocarbons and metal flakes from getting into the welder's breathing zone. This reduces lung exposure and improves the working environment. Without extraction, these substances can cause health issues like asthma or allergies.

Workshop practice & instructions

To use the weld fume extraction table effectively, make sure the suction duct is free and unobstructed. Clean the tabletop regularly to avoid blocking. For heavy tasks like MIG welding, you can boost extraction by using multiple slots or special filters.
