Welding Current Monitoring

Continuous recording of electrical process parameters to ensure constant energy inputs. It serves quality assurance in automated and mechanized welding processes.

Welding current monitoring is basically your control eye on the heat input. If the current is off, something's wrong with the weld pool, and you get pores or a weak seam. In automatic welding, the machine does this via sensors; by hand, you have to keep an eye on the current at the machine and react to deviations. It's important that the value stays stable and matches the material thickness, then the seam will be clean and hold.
