Consumable Test Certificate

A test certificate confirming the chemical composition and mechanical properties of a filler metal. It is part of traceability in quality management.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The test certificate verifies the chemical composition of the filler material through laboratory tests. It also confirms mechanical properties such as hardness, stress relief, and toughness.

Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding

An inaccurate test certificate can lead to errors in the welding procedure. This can cause defects like porosity, cracks, or uneven hardness in the weld. There is also a risk that the material doesn't meet the required mechanical properties, endangering the safety of the component.

Shop Practice & Instructions

Always check the test certificate when selecting a filler material. Make sure it matches the specific requirements of the component. If needed, have the chemical composition and mechanical properties checked again.
