Dual Element Transducer

An ultrasonic probe with separate transducers for transmit-receive separation, optimized for precise thickness measurements and detection of near-surface flaws.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

The transmit-receive probe uses separate transducer systems for sending and receiving ultrasonic waves. This allows higher resolution in the near field, since the echoes are not disturbed by the transmit signal.

Metallurgical Relevance & Risks in Welding

The high resolution enables precise thickness measurements and the detection of small surface defects. Incorrect settings or faulty transducer systems can lead to inaccurate results, posing risks to the quality of the inspection.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Use the transmit-receive probe for precise thickness measurement and surface inspection. Make sure both transducer systems are correctly calibrated and the settings are optimized for the specific workpiece. Regular maintenance and calibration of the probe is essential.
