Safety Zone Monitoring via Laser Scanner

Laser scanners monitor safety zones and detect people entering, automatically putting robots into safe stop modes. This enables safe collaborative operation without fixed safety fences.

Physikalisch-chemischer Wirkmechanismus

Laser scanners emit a light signal that is reflected at the boundaries of the safety zone. If a person or object interrupts the light beam, the scanner detects this and triggers a signal evaluation.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

Monitoring with laser scanners is especially important in welding shops because it minimizes potential hazards such as contact between people and machines. Without such monitoring, there is a risk of accidents and injuries.

Werkstattpraxis & Handlungsanweisungen

1. Install the laser scanner at the entrances of the safety zone.

2. Make sure the scanner is properly calibrated and the light beam covers the entire zone.

3. Set up the system so that it automatically puts robots into a safe stop mode as soon as a person or object is detected.

4. Regularly monitor the operation of the laser scanner and carry out scheduled maintenance.
