Silver Brazing Alloy Microstructure
The characteristic phase composition of silver-containing solders forming ductile solid solutions and hard precipitates through targeted additions of copper, zinc, and cadmium. This optimizes yield strength and melting range.
Silver brazing alloy is an alloy, usually of silver, copper, and zinc. The exact composition determines how well the filler metal flows and how strong the joint becomes. If the mixture is off, the filler metal becomes either too tough or too brittle, and you'll have problems working with it. Make sure the filler metal is clean and dry and you hit the right working temperature, then you'll get a clean structure and a clean seam.
