Stress Relief Annealing Process Parameters

The precisely defined holding times and temperatures just below the transformation line to reduce manufacturing-induced residual stresses. This minimizes subsequent component distortion during machining.

During stress-relief annealing, you heat the component in a controlled manner and let it cool down slowly. This removes the internal stresses that arose during welding. If you don't do this, the workpiece can distort or even crack during machining. Be careful not to get too hot, otherwise you'll cause more damage than you fix. The exact values depend on the material, so stick to the specifications.
