Spray arc droplet transfer

A fine-droplet, axial material transfer in the high-current range characterized by high currents and low-spatter melting of the filler material.

In spray arc, the filler metal transfers as a fine mist of tiny droplets, not as coarse spatter. This only happens at high currents and with shielding gas, usually argon or an argon mixture. The transfer is calm and clean, you get a uniform weld without spatter on the surface. If the transfer flips and you get coarse droplets or short circuits again, usually the current is wrong or the gas is set incorrectly. Then better turn down the current or check the torch angle before continuing to weld.
