Steel Grit Blasting

An abrasive blasting process using angular steel grit for the intensive roughening and preparation of metal surfaces prior to coating. It ensures optimal adhesive tensile strength of subsequent protective layers.

Steel shot is blasted onto the surface with compressed air or another gas. The angular grains mechanically roughen the area and create a uniform profile that improves adhesion for coatings. If you blast too long or with too much pressure, the surface gets too rough and the coating can't sit cleanly – that leads to corrosion later. Adjust the pressure and distance so you get a fine, even ripple pattern, not deep craters.
