Thermomechanical Process Synthesis

The targeted combination of controlled plastic deformation and precise temperature management. It serves to establish optimized, fine-grained microstructures.

TMP is a process where you deliberately form the material while controlling the temperature. This gives you a fine, uniform structure and better mechanical properties. If you do it wrong, you get problems like pores, uneven deformation, or a hard spot that can crack later. You don't want that. In practice, this means: you have to keep the temperature cleanly within the window and form the material slowly and evenly. No rapid temperature changes, no jerky pulling or pressing. Then it works.
