Titanium Beta Alloy

Titanium beta alloys are high-performance titanium alloys with a β crystal lattice, providing excellent strength and heat resistance, commonly used in aerospace and mechanical engineering.

You don't weld titanium beta alloys like normal steel. The key point is: the beta structure determines the mechanical properties, and you must preserve it when welding. If you heat the alloy too much or leave it in the heat zone too long, the structure flips and the material becomes brittle or loses strength. So you use a process that puts in little heat and cool the weld in a controlled way. Good shielding gas coverage on the hot weld is important, otherwise the material picks up oxygen and becomes unusable. After welding, don't quench the weld too fast, but let it cool slowly so the structure stabilizes.
