Titanium Electrochemical Polishing
Abrasive surface process for smoothing and deburring titanium components under targeted anodic current flow in specialized electrolytes.
Electropolishing titanium is an electrochemical removal process that smooths the surface and removes contaminated edge zones. This is especially important after welding because it removes the often darkly discolored and brittle oxide layer and restores corrosion resistance. You need a suitable electrolyte and must keep an eye on current density and processing time. If you polish too long or remove too much, you can damage the passive layer and weaken the part. Make sure the part is grease-free and dry beforehand, otherwise the result will be uneven.
