Titanium Welding Wire Purity Grade

Strictly regulated filler material with minimal interstitial impurity elements to prevent embrittlement during titanium welding.

Titanium welding wire must be clean. The fewer impurities like carbon or sulfur it contains, the better. If there's too much of them, the titanium becomes brittle during welding and the seam tears under load. You have to keep the wire absolutely clean—no grease, no fingerprints, no dirt. The weld area should be well covered with shielding gas, otherwise titanium will absorb oxygen and nitrogen when hot and become hard and brittle. That's the classic when the seam breaks afterwards.
