Titanium Heat Treatment Annealing Regime
Specific thermal routing within the two-phase field of titanium alloys to purposefully adjust globular or lamellar microstructural fractions for optimized fatigue properties.
Titanium is annealed to stabilize the structure and relieve stresses. You heat the part controllably and then let it cool down slowly. If you slack off on that, you get an unfavorable structure that will fail on you sooner. When welding, cleanliness is the be-all and end-all; otherwise, titanium reacts immediately with the environment. Keep the temperature control clean and even, then the part won't become brittle and will withstand the load.
