Titanium-Zirconium Alloy

A biocompatible titanium mixed system exhibiting improved mechanical damping properties and high osseointegration. It is used for orthopedic pins and screws.

Titanium-zirconium is a special material used mainly for its biocompatibility and damping properties. When welding, the biggest issue is protection against contamination: you must shield the weld pool and heat-affected zone with shielding gas (argon), otherwise the material becomes brittle and crack-prone. Ensure controlled heat input and let the part cool slowly to avoid stresses and distortion. The surface must be absolutely clean and free of grease before welding. If you follow this, you'll get a clean, tight weld.
