Excessive weld spatter

Metal droplets expelled uncontrollably from the molten pool during arc welding, solidifying and adhering firmly to the component surface.

Spatter usually occurs when you put too much energy in or the weld pool is too turbulent. Then it spits out metal droplets that stick to the workpiece and dirty the weld. That costs you rework later and can ruin the weld quality. Remedy: Drive more calmly and controlled, adjust wire and gas flow to the position. If you control the weld pool and don't overheat, spatter will stay away on its own. And a good anti-spatter spray on the workpiece never hurts, then cleaning up afterwards is a breeze.
