Ultrasonic Immersion Testing with Automated Feed Control

An inspection method where the component is fully immersed in water and ultrasonic probes are traversed precisely over the surface without physical contact via a water path.

Immersion testing means: the component is in water, the probe moves over it. The water couples the sound. The automatic feed control ensures that the probe moves evenly over the weld. If the speed is wrong or jerky, you get false indications and can miss defects. Set up the system so it runs smoothly and evenly, and inspect the weld calmly.
