Vacuum Furnace Brazing Process

A brazing process performed under reduced pressure that prevents any oxidation of the joint parts without using chemical fluxes. It guarantees metallurgically pure and highly resilient joints.

Vacuum brazing is done in a sealed furnace from which the air is pumped out beforehand. This means there's no oxygen to oxidize the parts – the sheet stays clean and the filler metal flows properly. You heat everything up until the filler melts and draws into the joint gap. The parts must be degreased and clean beforehand, otherwise nothing works. If the temperature or vacuum isn't right, the joint won't fill properly and won't hold.
