Vibratory Finishing

Vibratory finishing uses vibrations to grind components with abrasive materials. It is an effective way to deburr and round edges.

Physical-Chemical Mechanism of Action

Vibratory finishing uses vibrations to grind parts with abrasive media. The vibrations move the abrasive over the workpiece, increasing the abrasion effect and making it more uniform.

Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks

Proper application of vibratory finishing is crucial for deburring quality. Incorrect settings can lead to uneven abrasion or over-deburring, which can impair welding behavior and cause cracking.

Workshop Practice & Instructions

Use the right amount of abrasive media and adjust the vibration frequency to the workpiece. A frequency of 30-50 Hz is typical. Make sure the workpiece is well secured to avoid uneven abrasion.
