Visual Endoscopy
Visual endoscopy is an optical inspection method for examining hard-to-reach cavities and internal component surfaces with special camera systems.
Physicochemical Mechanism of Action
Visual endoscopy uses an optical probe camera that is inserted into the inside of a component through a thin tube. The camera sends images back and so allows a detailed inspection of the inner surface.
Metallurgical Relevance & Welding Risks
Endoscopy is especially useful for checking weld quality, pores or corrosion in complex parts. Wrong handling can damage the probe or hurt the images.
Workshop Practice & Instructions
Use a high-resolution endoscope camera with long range for detailed inspections. Make sure the channel is clean and the probes are inserted correctly. Document all images carefully for traceability.
