Soft Solder Alloy Base

Composition of low-melting metals such as tin and lead or lead-free alternatives designed for joint temperatures below 450 degrees Celsius.

Soft solder alloys lower the melting temperature of the filler material. This makes the structure softer and tougher when cooling, instead of hard and brittle. That reduces the risk of cracks in the weld. But if you add too much, you lose strength. So watch out that the mix is right and the weld doesn't cool too fast.
